Every woman who belongs to the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church is a member of the Women of Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (W/ELCA).  The purpose of W/ELCA is:

As a community of women created in the image of God, CALLED to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and POWERED by the Holy Spirit, we commit oursleves to GROW in faith, AFFIRM our gifts, SUPPORT one another in our callings, ENGAGE in ministry and action, and PROMOTE healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.

Participation in this group is a great way to enjoy fellowship with other women from Grand Meadow Lutheran Church.

We meet the second Wednesday of each month at 1:30 pm, alternating between Meadows Assisted Living and the church Fellowship Hall.  The meetings consist of Bible study and/or a program. W/ELCA raises money and sponsors projects such as:

  • Augsburg devotional booklets for each family
  • Baptism towels and quilts for baptized children
  • Cradle roll
  • Quilts for graduating seniors who are members of our church
  • Church home projects
  • Collections for Rachel’s Hope
  • Birthday paries for the residents of Grand Meadow Health Care Center
  • Serve lunches following funeral
